Our last day has unfortunately come. Since we don’t have to be at the airport until around 1 or so, we decided to take the opportunity to sleep in a little.
This was great in theory, except the hotel we’re staying at is getting roof work done and all you could hear was banging. We laid around as long as we could before getting up so we could start packing and preparing to go back home today.
We only came with backpacks, and the souvenirs we got can’t fit in them. We were thinking we’d have to make a trip to UPS today but fortunately, when I asked the hotel if they could ship them, they said yes! They were able to provide 2 boxes, so all we had to do was pack, weigh, and get the label for them. We dropped off the boxes this morning and scheduled a pickup for tomorrow. Fingers crossed they get picked up and we get them within a week🤞🏼
Once that was all settled and we were checked out, it was time to eat. There’s a Cracker Barrel nearby and boy was it packed. A 50 minute wait! Since we didn’t have anything else to do, we figured we’d get on the list and hang outside. Shortly after, a group came out and said they just waited an hour to get sat and then their waiter told them it would be another hour to get their food, so they were leaving. If that were true for us, we’d be late getting to the airport, so we decided to also leave.
There was a Waffle House down the street so we walked and, funny enough, the group had gone there too!
We sat at the bar, ate delicious breakfast bowls and waffles, and walked back down to our hotel. Shortly after we left Waffle House, I got a text from Cracker Barrel that we were getting sat. So in the time it would’ve taken us to even get a seat there, we had walked, waited, sat, ordered, ate breakfast, and were walking back to our hotel. It appears we definitely made the right decision.
It wasn’t much longer before we needed to head to the airport so we just lounged at the hotel until then. The airport wasn’t even busy so we both made it through security pretty quickly. Plus, since we’re both flying Breeze home, our gates are practically next to each other!
Izzy’s flight leaves around 3pm and mine around 4pm so they aren’t too far apart. There’s also plenty of seating so let’s hope that means our flights are fairly empty. I grabbed a “just in case” snack and Izzy grabbed her “just in case” water and we found our place.
For Izzy, her water is a just-in-case-I’m-choking-and-need-a-water water. While I grabbed a water too, it’s really just in case I get thirsty. However, my snack is a just-in-case-I-get-hungry-and-need-to-eat-something-so-I-don’t-pass-out snack. #iykyk
As we’re sitting there, I get a text from Breeze. It would be my luck that I’d get delayed as I’m already at the airport waiting for a few hours before my flight. My 4pm flight turned into 4:45pm. Even if I hadn’t gotten delayed, I’d have been waiting at the airport for my ride home anyways. So I guess better to wait with my sister than by myself right? (Me trying to see the bright side lol)
2:45 rolled around, and it was time for Izzy to board her plane. Once she was on I headed down to my gate where the screen confirmed the flight was still delayed.
By 4:45, our plane had arrived and just deboarded. I finally boarded at 5pm and, similar to day 1, Izzy landed when I was boarding LOL.
We landed about an hour and a half later and by the time we got to the gate, deboarded, and I got to my ride, it was about 7.

It feels so good to be home and in my own bed again. This weekend was so much fun, even despite the mishaps. Mishaps, while inconvenient and sometimes stressful, are good for the plot, amirite? I’m always thankful any time I get to take a trip, but I also love when others get to join me! It amazes me that this is my 9th year, and I can’t wait to see what I do for my 10th! Maybe something big?👀 We’ll see what the cards have in store.
If you’ve been reading the last few days, thank you! I hope you’ve enjoyed coming along my adventures. Drop a comment and let me know your thoughts! Oh, and stick around by subscribing so you don’t miss any future postings 😉
Until next time ❤
