If you’ve been a follower, you’re probably aware of this passion project of mine from the last 2 years. If you’re not, feel free to check out the other years’ posts.
I typically start this project on November 1st, but this year I’m trying something new and starting a month early! I figure this way I can ensure we have a hard cut off date, since the last two years has been slightly difficult and dependent on other circumstances. So with an October 1st start date, we’d accept donations until November 30th giving us a full 2 month period, and then we could hand out the bags in December.
My goal for the last 2 years was to raise $1500, and last year we raised just over $1600! Therefore, I’m increasing my goal to $1700 this year, and I can’t wait to see if we reach it or not. This is also a very busy time of year for me with my best friend getting married in late October and being the Maid of Honor in that as well as planning my own wedding for Spring of next year! No need to fret, though, because I can guarantee that I’ll still be giving my best effort.
Something I’m also excited about for this year is a new book I’m introducing! I came across a book called “I May Not Have A Home, But I Have Rights”, and it explores rights that those experiencing homelessness have (even if society doesn’t think they do). If you head to our Facebook or my Tiktok page to view our video updates, I’ll be reading a right from this book at the end of each video.
Make sure you subscribe to this blog and follow the Facebook page so you don’t miss out on any updates over these next 2ish months!
