2021 Georgia Trip

Day 1: Made it to Atlanta!

If you’ve been following my blogs, specifically my traveling ones, you know my Day 1’s typically are disastrous, or at least the opposite of what was planned. Recently, though, they haven’t been as bad. I think that means I’m either getting the hang of it or my luck has started to turn! My New Year New Place trip this year is Georgia — Sister’s Edition!

My three younger sisters drove from Florida up to Atlanta while I flew down from Connecticut. My flight was pretty early this morning, so I landed around 10:30am. Since they were driving they wouldn’t arrive until later around 2-3pm. Luckily, I was able to get an extra early check-in to our room when I arrived to the hotel (shout out Manager guy!).

I had some work stuff I had to get done, and my new Spooky Boxes went live for my boutique, so once I got all of that finished I decided to get a little workout in. Since I skipped my gym session yesterday so I could get everything ready for the trip, I figured I would bang out a quick, little session while I waited for everyone to arrive. Plus, now I’ll feel less guilty for missing Monday 😉

By the time I wrapped up my workout and showered, my sisters were nearly here. We hung around the hotel for a little bit, chitchatted about random stuff, and got ready for our first event of the weekend: Selfie Museum!

Whoever invented Selfie Museums is honestly a genius. With it being 2021, and influencer culture at an all time high, someone saw an opportunity and took it. I’m jealous it wasn’t me. Essentially there are different “rooms” or “backdrops” that you can take “Insta-Worthy” pictures in. I’ll give you a sneak peak at some down below, but you’ll have to keep an eye on the gram to see the best ones 😉

Our next stop was the Trap Music Museum. While it wasn’t really what any of us expected it to be, it was awesome! We were wondering why the line was long when we got there, and why a museum would be open until midnight on a Friday night, and we had our answers why. It had great vibes where people could walk around and read/see music history, rappers, and lifestyles, you could hang around and listen to the music, and you can even grab a drink at their full bar! Definitely worth checking out if you’re ever in the area.

Since we all had been traveling all day and were tired from taking pictures for so long (first-world problems, am I right?!), we figured we’d grab some dinner before heading back to our hotel for the night. We enjoyed some drinks, some southwest bowls and burgers, and called it a night. Pretty short blog today since it’s Day #1, but stay tuned for the rest of the weekend!

Tomorrow we’ll be checking out the largest aquarium in the country (2 million gallons short of the largest in the world!), personally my favorite thing this weekend, and paying a visit to the Civil Rights Museum.

Until tomorrow ❤
